The Vineyard

Mount Beckworth Wines is situated 425 Pickfords Road, Glendaruel just out from the first gold mining township of Clunes, and is owned and operated by Paul and Jane Lesock.

The vineyard was established in 1984/85 and is planted with premium grape varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of which a range of these wines are made under our label.

We are classed as a "boutique winery" with all the wines handcrafted and made by traditional winemaking methods to achieve complexity and balance.

Due to the long ripening period, the red wines are not big, but subtle in their character, soft and elegant with an abundance of fruit flavour. The Unwooded Chardonnay has stone fruit aromas with a crisp clean finish.

We have been fortunate to date with all our wines winning 73 Awards in the way of Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at various Wine Shows. This we feel is an endorsement of the quality of wines produced.

What's happening in the vineyard now!

The growing season is well on the way. All vines have been disbudded, the inter rows have been slashed and Paul is now working on lifting the foliage wires to allow air movement through the vines to deter any disease.
Due to the weather becoming warmer, Paul has started the irrigation pump and the vines are getting a well deserved drink.
